Cheers to 30!

I turned the big 3-0 back in May. Mom asked me what I wanted to do. Really my only answer was to go to Bald Head Island.

We had been when I was little (see below pic with my aunt and Granmom) and back in 2016 but we didn’t get to explore much so I wanted to spend the day there.

So mom reserved our golf cart for the day. It was $75 and we could keep it until 6 that day. You catch the ferry in Southport, NC at the Deep Point Marina and it is about $23 a person. No cars – just you! We could take our chairs and coolers and they loaded them up for us!

We made a friend on the ferry!

When you leave Southport, you can see the Oak Island Lighthouse (Caswell Beach) in one direction and the Bald Head Lighthouse the other direction.

We took the golf cart around the island and hit all the little shops. Riverside Adventure Company is right beside the golf cart rentals. They have great island wear, trendy shoes, and jewelry. I got a new BHI Sweatshirt that feels heavenly! Island Passage, Coastal Urge, Silver Peddler, and the Maritime Market are all must visits off Maritime Way!

Next stop, Old Baldy! I conquered the 108 steps!

We drove around some more then hit the beach! We packed our lunch! It was so peaceful, not a soul on there.

After relaxing on the beach a while we went to Turtle Central on the end of the island. Here you see the remains of the Cape Fear Lighthouse and can do some more shopping.

We ended our day at the Sandpiper Coffee & Ice Cream shop. I had some delicious red velvet ice cream. We had a fabulous time and made some great memories!!

**We didn’t eat on the island on this trip but Mojo’s on the Harbor is a great choice!
